VPEOPLE: SOPHIE

It is important to take a moment to observe your breath,

as an ode to your body.

Sophie, yoga teacher, mom and dreamer.

The practice

For me yoga is discovering yourself through movement, discovering his breath and your breath.

It is discovering and accepting your weaknesses, facing them and therefore discovering your strength,

your courage, and share this practice with other people.

It is a time to forget about the body. It sounds perhaps a bit rhetorical, but if you live it on the mat,

if you commit to practice after practice - we call it practice because it has to be done every day - you notice that something changes.

Also remember to breathe in the morning before doing anything, forget about problems, even the beautiful things.

It is important to take a moment to observe your body and your breath, as an ode to your body.

Daily you learn to accept yourself as you are, learn to love yourself and recognize

in each person this same flame that animates you.

I started doing yoga a little bit like many people in the West, although I was very young

I was 25 years old and already starting to work. I was living in Rome and had a frenetic life.

We are all very busy, very busy with outside inputs, work, study, but also with each other, partners,

parents, children. I started to cut out free time outside of everything and everyone, initially

through hatha yoga and its relaxation techniques to let go.

I found myself in yoga and I didn't look for anything anymore, I entered as a blank sheet of paper without prejudice

And an unexpected dimension opened up for me.

Sharing

Practicing alone you work with your own energy, you quickly find obstacles.

When you are in a group you find that we feed off each other and the atmosphere is different

I love practicing with others because I am very sensitive to stimuli and moods;

when I teach, it comes very naturally to me to feel the energy that my students, the other yogis have

, and I adjust the sequence depending on what comes back to me. haring the practice is like

sharing a state of mind, a spirit.

The perfect body

The perfect body does not exist, and it is something we face mostly in practice.

We are perfect as we are, flaws and limitations. In yoga we try to figure out how to confine the limitations,

being aware of it. It is the beginning of a very important thing, which is acceptance .

The Shape of Your Love

If you say the word love to me: I immediately think of my children, of course. Chloe, Filippo

They may say I'm a dreamer

Traveling, I would like to practice all over the world. Not counting this very particular period,

I can say that I have always been a traveler. I am an anthropologist, I have always

interested in other cultures to other people. To go back to traveling freely is an immense dream I have.

Your favorite asana

Shirsasana. The handstand on the head. It is the asana I love the most: it requires a lot of concentration,

you have to put yourself out there, and it's fun. It gives you a chance to look at the world from a different perspective.
